Michelle Glover is the Founder of Hippie Brand Co, home of the Hands Free Hippie!  Purveyor’s of hands-free happiness, her ‘hip’ bags are not your granny’s fanny! They are lightweight, noninvasive and meant to be worn on your hip. The “Hippie” allows you to finally free up your hands for more important things. Now you can pick up your babies, hold them, walk your dog, grocery shop with ease and dance the night away without worry.

We asked Michelle to share with the Tribute community a bit more about her, and why she decided to found Hippie Brand Co.

How old are you?
I have been telling everyone I’m 40 for about two years now, to prepare myself for actually turning 40 in 2 months!! So Hi, I’m 40!

Where were you raised?
I was born in Galway, Ireland. We moved here in 1980, right after my second birthday. I was raised in Philadelphia by my immigrant parents with four brothers & a sister.

What do you want to be known for?
Helping others. Whether it’s by freeing up their hands and making their life a tiny bit easier or donating proceeds to causes dear to my heart. I’m currently running a crowdfunding campaign; one of my rewards is a donation to RAICES: A Refugee and Immigrant Center for Education & Legal Services. They do amazing work and being a first generation Irish immigrant, I know how fortunate I am to be living in this amazing country!!

What made you decide to start your venture?
The constant creative fire burning inside me. When the fire constantly burns and there is no ceasing in sight, there is no other choice but to fuel it. My fuel happens to be creating & networking & being a part of the “tribe” that is women, running on fumes but still figuring out a way to make it all work.

Did you leave a cozy Corporate job? Or start a side hustle?
I had a cozy job for 10 years that ended fairly sudden, recently. So, what was a side hustle quickly became my main focus. I know this is the universe telling me to go all in. No turning back now!

What inspires you to keep going when the going gets tough?
My 4 children are my biggest inspiration, after all they gotta eat! Ha! I’m kidding! Showing them they can accomplish anything they put their minds to is huge for me. I keep a daily gratitude journal which helps me remember the things I’ve been given so far and also prompts me to set my intentions going forward. It’s a constant reminder to me and the universe that I am grateful. It reminds me of my goals going forward, and help me take things one day, one task at time.

And finally, we asked Michelle these three questions.

My favorite self-care routine is…
Starting the day with my gratitude journal, peace, quiet & coffee

The last book I read was…
Building A Story Brand by Donald Miller

My best advice to fellow female founder is….
A
n hour a day. Don’t overload yourself with tasks. Chip away at your goals an hour a day. We all have a ton going on in our day to day but if you plan and give 100% just one hour a day, we are that much closer to our goals. I started The Hippie as a mother of 4, with a full time job. I felt like I was getting no where. When in reality a year later, I have a product being manufactured, a crowdfunding campaign, a legitimate brand & now feel like the sky is the limit! One hour, every day! Chip away! You can do it!!
